other protective coatings and finishes to help with fashion as well as
harmful light waves.
Some lens modification that are done primarily for fashion are as
follows:
- Tint: Lenses can be tinted or colored to any style, fashion or
color. This is the way to make sunglasses, but sun glasses by
definition must block 69% of the light. Where as a tint can be a
light or dark as desired.
- Polish: Some eyeglasses have either rimless edge of just lens with
no frame or a frameless eyeglass where the frame is drilled through the
lens. The exposed styles look much nicer with polished edges.
